It has been a hectic last few weeks here at the Life or Debt house. Today is the first day of 1st grade for our oldest kiddo…and let’s just say– I think I dragged my feet getting him ready to go because I didn’t want him to go to school. I want him home with me.
Needless to say– I cried buckets at the bus stop (after he got on the bus, of course!) I’m way behind on being proactive on our project over here– at least blogging about it. But we’re still budgeting away. Saving where we can…and trying to adjust to all of life’s changes along the way.
Speaking of change….our littlest guy will be starting daycare on Monday part-time. I’m super excited about that right now. It’s money out the door for a little while but will help me put things in order so that other areas of our life can be more enjoyable, productive, and I can be a happier woman. All of these things are things that I think are worth the cost of the part-time childcare. I had some help over the summer, but it wasn’t as effective as I’d thought it would be. The projects I need to do are at home, not out. I need to be able to be home for work– not running errands that I could do when Michael is home.
While we are in this adjustment stage we’ve been selling our stuff on Ebay to pull in a little extra cash. The selling of stuff is still part of the paring down and minimizing that we started in the spring. We still haven’t gotten down to the number of things we’d like to own or have them organized in a way that makes sense to us– but we are getting there.
How is your end of summer going?
