Something happened this month I wasn’t prepared for: summer. Summer was here by the beginning of the month and the joke was on me. I’m still in be prepared for it to be 32 degrees and snowing mode when it was 85 degrees and sunny. And HOT!
The folks that have been here longer (’cause let’s face it: no one is “local” here) all seemed to know what lay ahead: hot and rain. That’s why we’ve been at the park Every. Single. Day. Of. The. Week. Seriously. And they told me “we have to go out now, because the rain is coming soon and we’ll be inside for months.” Just like our winters back in Northern Illinois. (My friends that still live there will slap me for saying this, but at least the sun is out in the winter and the snow glitters. I’m dead serious. It glitters.) Ahh, well. Trying my best to love it while we’re here, because what else can we do?
In preparation for our end of the month trip to Walt Disney World, we have been reading about some of the countries on exhibit in the World Showcase at EPCOT. We have also been dabbling in French and Spanish. Dabbling, is the operative word.
Much of May has also been spent on practicing our musical instruments. Between piano, drums, and the guitar (for Peach) we’ve been making a lot of noise.
