It’s a funny thing: life. We don’t live on Olive Street any more. We live in South Florida. Where it’s hot. In November.
So…life has changed a lot. But the biggest change is that we are now a homeschooling family. It’s been a bit of a leap of what-the-hell-am-I-thinking-24-hours-a-day-7-days-a-week-day-in-day-out-of-pure-responsibility-for-my-children!?
Here’s the truth: we have been homeschooling “officially” for 2 weeks. The State of Florida makes you declare yourself a home schooler, keep records, and have a yearly evaluation.
I have no idea what I’m doing. For real. No. Effen. Idea. BUT!
I do know that I love our kids. They are so very smart– and I know that what we do during the day together can certainly be as good, if not better, than what the local public schools have to offer. (And won’t cost the small fortune the private schools do!)
Yes. This will be a mommy blog. And yes, this is probably going to become another one of the multitude of home school blogs. Not quite sure if this is a warning or an affirmation….but it’s where I’m at right now: not on Olive Street in a sleepy little suburb of Chicago….but in Palm Beach County in South Florida.
