Welcome to a little series on things that make me happy. While not traditionally beautiful, their necessity makes them quite beautiful to me. On Mondays in November, you can read about the things that are instrumental in living my life.

Everyday, I write. I don’t necessarily blog everyday (as you can tell!) but everyday I write. So many writers have a process- a specific way of doing things. A way of getting their creative brains working so that all their ideas and words tumble out of their brains. My process is this:
|My handwriting with my favorite pen.|
Handwritten anything isn’t something one routinely sees– we see fonts, typeface, and graphics. I’m not talking about Calligraphy– I am not interested in the art of perfect handwriting. I am referring to a person’s own, simple, and yet very complex handwriting. With all its perfect imperfections. When you do have the opportunity to see someone’s handwriting, or signature, or chicken scratch take notice. It is quite like seeing a hidden part of who they are…a secret.
